I tried one time to place the .bar back into the same directory that the .apk was from. It worked on one file and not the next. Some of the .bar files just don't work, same as the .apk files don't either. Fun to try though.

The MYPASSCODE highlighted in red should be your password in which was used to register you keys with RIM. It shows there is no access to the key store. The password must not have registered properly. This would be my take on it.

I would start from the top once a gain, ask for new .csj files from RIM and re-register them and create a new .p12 file. I've done this on numerous occasions.

    Hey...
MYPASSCODE was for sure my actual password... I intentionally wrote so as not to reveal my password....

And i had tried from top(step 1 ) twice but still facing the same issues,.....

    Any other possibility ??

    Thanks a lot

Let me start over and walk thru the steps again and see if I can figure out what is going wrong.

I'm no expert in this, but I'll see what I can come up with.

@Khushal Dusseja I am not getting too far. I get a bit further than you, but I keep getting the error that if can't access the .bar file.

One think I thought of, check to make sure you do not have any capital letters in you passcode. "MYPASSCODE" should be "mypasscode".

Ok went back thru this and have no problems getting the .csj file registered or the .p12 file set up.

What I have a problem with it that BBHTool will not convert and sign it. Continue to get "Error: Unable to open bar file"

Googling the error, I found a page stating that it was possible the permission was the problem. I have tried to set the permissions to the files/directories and all looks right. I'm the only user and person with an account.

Anyone have any ideas? Not having any success with Blackberry Graphical aid either.

Bluesatcks is installed, do you think that it could be the issue ?

    Many thanks by advance,

Edit : I have found the solution, i'll try tomorrow the following steps (i'm just at the beginning...)

    Hi everyone,
I have the same issue as described above.
Could you tell me if someone has resolved this ? Maybe I have to use an another program for the conversion.
All the steps described have normally been respected (i have the .p12 file).

    Thanks,

I think this would indicate that the files are not there or are maybe read only? You also have to ensure that you open the cmd as the administrator. (right click on the icon and select, run as administrator)

Try using apk2bar by HaTaX, I was getting the same error with the pop up window and stuff. But with apk2bar, it just worked. Give it a try, same process except all you gotta do is edit the 2 .bat files

    So'm I.

Grabbed a spare PC, did a clean XP install on it. Logged in as Administrator. Followed the page 1 directions TO THE LETTER. Put the Java path in the environment variables.

    Got this:

Tutorial: Converting .APK to .Bar using BBHTool-bbhtool-error.jpg

Clearly there's a fix as some folks are getting this to work...

Clearly there's a fix as some folks are getting this to work...

    - Make sure that you're android-sdk folder is installed to the C:\ and is named how it was installed, which I think should be C:\android-sdk or something (you just have C:\sdk)
    - Make sure you are running everything as administrator.
    - Hopefully you pointed it to the right keystore file...

*Every time I use BBH tool, I have to reset where it has to look for the Android SDK Folder, so make sure you check that every time.
