please test blackberry playbook good e-reader news app
hey guys! i am on holidays and don't have my blackberry playbook with me, but that hasn't stopped me form convering my android app over. I removed the image gallery which was causing crashing issues before i left. can someone test this and let me know if the bar file works?
this is a true zip file, just unzip it for the bar file.
if there is an error please let me know what type of error you are getting, if it mentions any particular process or code.
this version actually might work better, its playbook optimized

just installed it and it force close at launch, used memory eater to kill android, restarted the app and same thing...
rebooting now to see if it work
still no success launching the app

did it give you a error message? anything when it force closed?
ok, am going to remove the podcast section of the app and repackage it, to see if that works, if it doesn't i will remove the video functionality.
can you try and test this? this has podcast removed.

still not working for me, force close again and there is no error code.
installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, killed android with memory eater, restarted and still forceclose
anyone else testing it? just to be sure it's not my playbook at fault :/
ok removed the video section, all multi media is out now, galleries, podcast and video!

still not working, i feel like i'm doing something wrong.
1- download the zip file and unzip it, there's "goodereader.news.playbook_v126.96.36.199.bar" (189kb) and a "__MACOSX" folder that contain "._goodereader.news.playbook_v188.8.131.52.bar" (1kb). i didnt care about the one in the folder.
2- I uninstall the previous app and install the new one (i'm using PlayBook App Manager 1.9 on chrome)
3- launch the app, tried landscape mode and portrait, with dev mode and without, killing android player before launch
4- tried the above with reinstalling the app over the existing one, uninstalling and reinstalling
5- reboot and try again
still no luck, always force close "The application GoodEReader News (process goodereader.news.playbook) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again."
i'm gonna be available to test for about 2 hour more, and i hope that someone else can test it too
ok, about the only thing i can do is look at the storage and where the data that is being synced is stored. might have to change the sd card location. its about the last thing i could do.
ok try this, i changed the sd card path and commented some calls out.

I'm no developer by any means, but is this app so extremely different from the store app? Shouldn't there be a bunch of similarities?
Could it be integrated into the store app perhaps?
Like I said, no offense, because I know nothing about writing code. But sometimes it might be just a slight oversight on something.
app was prob constructed with syncing features the playbook can't support.
