Hey everyone, I tried a site search but didn't find much. Just wondering if anyone has had any experiences with the "new" roam mobility that provides Canadians travelling to the US affordable cell coverage. I have found mixed reviews online. Some people say they are great, others the direct opposite. I am travelling to Hawaii this winter for about a week and was looking to get their SIM as I have an unlocked Bold. I know their data services don't work with BB's, and I am fine with that. But the unlimited talk and text sure would be handy. My carrier has rediculous rates for travelling to the US. $1.50/min for talk, $.75 for each text and $6/MB for data... That's insane. Just curious if anyone has had any experience before I hand over $50 to them for a sim and 7 days of service. Good or bad, just would like to know. Also if anyone has any experience with their service coverage in Hawaii that would be great too. I know they use T-Mobile and the T-Mo website indicates good coverage but I have also heard on the web from people that they had no coverage outside of larger cities even though there was supposed to be coverage. Any thoughts, suggestions, experiences are welcome. Thanks everyone!

Well I guess nobody has used them. After reading a lot of reviews and doing some research on the net the company didn't get overwhelmingly good feedback. My carrier offers a $50 add on bundle that you can add for as little as 1 month. Not as great of a deal but I will not be a happy camper if I get to the states and have no coverage after paying good money for it. The plan includes 50 minutes (local, long distance, back to Canada or the states), 50mb of data, and 200 sent text messages (unlimited incoming). Anything over that comes at a greatly reduced cost from their normal roaming charges that I listed above. Not the most ideal solution, but I could see racking up a huge bill in roaming charges really fast.

Hi dubber_d - Glad to hear you're interested in using Roam Mobility for your next trip. Although we currently don't offer Blackberry data, Voice and SMS services are fully supported for Blackberry users and can save you a substantial amount of money compared to roaming with your Canadian carrier. We assure you we've had thousands of users use our service in Hawaii (including our own staff) with nothing but great things to say. If there is a particular city on one of the islands where you would like us to confirm coverage availability please email or call us. Safe Travels!
Roam Mobility Care Team.
