    junk and a huge lie. the capability is there, however the pipeline is not large enough to allow regular data traffic in addition to streaming video. it is not youtube; csouth is reserving bandwidth.

    Uh, No! I am not joking. I logged into mobile.youtube.com and it gave me some youtube choices. I selected a video (Katy Perry - HOT n COLD) to watch, the arrows went crazy then voila' I was watching it. I know my phone went without service yesterday (11-23-08, cellsouth was down for some reason) then I got like 10 emails at one time. I went to youtube mobile and it worked. I guess they added something. Everyone check it out. See if you can get on... I did!

    I emailed them about this and this is my response......

    It's not that we do not want to offer this feature, our system is not capable of offering this feature. We are working on something to correct this issue. One site that I have found that can assist in viewing the videos from You Tube is blueapple.mobi. This site allows users to download the video first and then play it. I have found that most of the videos that are playable on You Tube can also be viewed and played by using the blueapple site.

    Is you have trouble accessing this site from your Blackberry or Smartphone, please let me know. So far, I haven't had any problems with it.

    But why would I want to download the video to my phone just to watch it. I download and save the favorites(gospel concert videos, comedy...etc) that I like enough to watch alot on my memory card through my Desktop. Why take up more memory to take more memory when our home computer can do that function and we keep maximum free memory on our BB

    Cell south....is not the problem.

    The Towers are fine.

    Its the Set up in the blackberry from RIM.

    You can take your Cell south Blackberry and ROAM it on ANY TOWER FROM ANY CARRIER....and YOUTUBE WILL NOT WORK....PERIOD.....

    I moved to the htc 6800 and have ZERO problem on Cell South Towers watching Full Blown steaming TV.

    Its the SET UP of the blackberry , not the blackberry , not the Towers.

    Its not what CS is doing to the backberry...its how the BLACKBERRY COMES FROM RIM.

    You can put a Altel blackberry on our Towers and it will stream, you can take a CS blackberry and put it on an Altel tower and it will not stream.

    Dehearn, incorrect. When other carrier devices roam our towers they do not receive the provisioning for Csouth devices which is what tells the device not to stream. Other carriers are basically only using data services

    I really hate to keep disagreeing with you here, but this is not correct information. Carrier provisioning is what drives THAT carrier's device while it's on their network as well as other networks while roaming. When you roam on another carriers towers, you are basically hijacking their data and voice (so to speak), because you are roaming and are not a customer of that carrier, your device will NOT receive it's provisioning settings. In other words, when you dial *228 (provisioning), you are telling the csouth network that, "hey I have a csouth device that needs the proper network settings." your device downloads those settings and you are set! now, let's say you travel to downtown ATL, which is more Verizon territory. your device starts to roam BUT only to allow you to utilize data and voice. this is why it's absolutely essential to never try to re-provision your device while roaming because you will be screwed. the best way i can explain it is:

    provisioning = your carrier settings
    roaming = is like using your neighbors wifi. you have access the web, but not the actual router settings.

    ***Regarding the HTC, you will notice that there are actually two different data logins. HTC = @cs3g.com whereas Blackberry = @bb.cs3g.com. There's a different method of authenticating the devices, so obviously streaming is allowed with non-BB authenticated devices

    But this is so unfair. We all pay the same price for data we should be able to cancle service for free since it just because we don't buy the phone they want to sell. I don't like htc and never will I don't like mobile windows OS like the old moto q and starcom had. I like BB because it is easy fast and user friendly. I am seriously considering going to at&t even though it will cost 50 more a month. Atleast my friends with at&t can stream youtube, among other things.
