Work Blackberry Cant Get to YouTube and certain sites.

At work they set a setting where you can not go to certain sites on your blackberry. I know there is a way around it because other people at work have access to sites like you tube, but I have yet to ask or be shown, so if someone knows the setting you can change in the phone or any insight it would b helpful thanks.

Is going to those sites worth more than your job? If its a setting they explicitly put on, I wouldn't try to circumvent it. If it is not something they are blocking and its just an OKed setting change then that is different.

Try to find a video that could be related to what you do, if possible, and have a coworker email you a link. Then ask your IT guy if they can help you view it. That's the simplest and most innocent method of bringing it up, IMO.

Don't forget that BES connects to your network internet, so they may have valid reasons for limiting these things.

Yeah, I agree w/ TheScionicMan, I know jobs that will fire you immediately if you try to go to certain sites.

You can try a proxy, that's how you do it on a PC. Or try opera or bolt ... I don't know anything about BES, so sorry if I was no help.

No, Its not against our company policy, its banned on our computers from websites, but on our phone there is a way. Our I/T person is out of state, and we dont see him/her reguarly so its not something I should call or email to just ask. I seen a boss showing a co-work so thats how I know its ok, but I didnt have time to but in because I was trying to get something done at the time.
