Default IMEI Database

IMEI numbers indicate the make, model, and carrier within the TAC code (the first 7 digits of the IMEI).

Does anyone know of an IMEI database / barcode scanner that can help quickly get devices checked into inventory by type using the IMEI?

Any info would be appreciated!

Almost any regular barcode scanner/gun should handle it. The code will be one of the common ones used for stock control, and most of the scanners operate as a regular input device to PC software.

What about the software? You're right that the hardware should be relatively easy to find (off the shelf, readily available).

@mostlydo - Please PM me if / when you recall!

Thanks!

Software should be pretty much whatever you want to use for inventory control. Anything from a simple spreadsheet, up to a custom front end driving a SQL database, and every bell and whistle ever invented.

(Why does almost everyone try to use a spreadsheet to make a database?)
