Default Can I Get BBM without a Blackberry Data Plan?
Hi, I don't have a Blackberry data plan, but I do have a 500 mb data plan. Is there any way to install BBM without getting a blackberry data plan? Thanks!

I have a 9700 Bold from Rogers and I'm not going to get a blackberry plan anytime soon because I'm switching phones in a month.

No you need a blackberry data plan for BBM to even work. No work around. Other smartphones will work with Blackberry data plans just not vice versa

You need a Blackberry plan to access BBM.

no blackberry plan = no bbm... but try it on wifi and let us know if it works or not

i have a similar question,
would one need a blackberry data plan to download apps that require internet connectivity? A friend of mine is using a blackberry without a blackberry data plan for the time being, and he has shown to me that it is not possible for him to download an app like shazam, or facebook, or even twitter!

I found out with my current plan and with telus I can use blackberry data and BBM no problem. I also have a friend with the same plan and on telus and uses a blackberry with BB services no problem.

There are different data plans .. One with unlimited email and bmm , social network or ones with let say 500mb of data which is more than enough for a blackberry to do everything.

There is no way to use BBM without a Blackberry Data plan from your carrier.

nooppee. you need to have a data plan in order to use the BIS/BES features which include email, bbm, windows live messenger, and a bunch of other stuff

Well, here in Manila, Philippines, Globe Telecom is offering BBM Services Only for Php99/month.

That translates prolly to 2.5 USD.

Check your local carrier if they offer such a plan (BBM ONLY)

BBM works only when you have BIS.

if you have a PB however, you can tether your unBIS BB to the PB to use the 500MB of data you have
