Question Blackberry Unite! and TCP Direct Socket

Hi All,

I have been running Unite! for a while now and have ironed out many of the bugs, but one I can't solve is the "Direct Socket" or "TCP" communication problem. Before I installed Unite!, I had the APN set for my carrier (Rogers Wireless) which was internet.com with username wapuser1 and password wap. That worked fine for programs requiring direct socket connections like BeeJive or JiveTalk for example. Once I installed Unite!, I tested the auto network config within JiveTalk and it displays:

BIS HTTP - OK
BIS Socket - OK
BES HTTP - OK
TCP HTTP - Failed (Tunnel Timed Out)
TCP Socket - Failed (Tunnel Timed Out)

Before installing Unite! it would show:

BIS HTTP - OK
BIS Socket - OK
BES HTTP - n/a
TCP HTTP - OK
TCP Socket - OK

I recently downloaded Yahoo oneSearch (the program you can talk to your blackberry and it will look it up for you) and it starts up but then says "Unable to connect to update server" and I'm assuming that's because it needs TCP Socket access.

Does anyone know how to get Direct Socket access using Blackberry Unite!?

Thumbs up

I have confirmed that Blackberry Unite! works on a BIS only connection if that's the plan you have. It of course, also works on a BIS/BES data plan.
