BIS on VZW: Connected via IMAP, multiple copies of same msg?

I'm using BIS to get my mail via IMAP. I have 3 accounts set up this way all on different servers.

But I'm seeing a strange behavior with email on ONE of those accounts. The server happens to be Exchange--but my company only provides BES access to principles in the complany (they don't want to pay extra fees for anyone else). And anyone else who wants to connect via anything other than webmail or Outlook is directed to use IMAP.

Anyway the odd behavior.........

When a message arrives on the server, I see it on my BB--that's good. But if I open the message via Outlook thus causing the message's status to change to READ, my BB recieves a SECOND copy of the same message (even the received time is the same) and on the BB, it's marked as UNREAD. Then if I reply to the message using Outlook, my BB receives ANOTHER copy of the message--again with the same received time and marked as UNREAD (think this is because Exchange keeps track of whether or not the message has been replied to/forwareded.

This is ANNOYING.

Anyone have any ideas?

Did you ever get this figured out? I'm having a similar issue with my users connecting with IMAP. We receive duplicates and in some cases multiple copies of emails. Haven't done any thorough testing, but what you describe sounds like what we're experiencing. I have a Curve 8830 and my manager has a Storm.

Anyway, I'd be interested to hear how you made out with this.

Nope--never found a solution. At least now I know I'm not the only one.

Guys, i have the same problem on my bberrt curve 8900 and nothing helps. Getting multiple copies is very annoying. I tried to do the manual set up but it did not help. Anything else i can do to fix it?
