hey, i was wondering if there were any other phones out there besides blackberry's that had the indicator light for e-mails and messages, i don't really need all the features of a blackberry, i just keep it for the indicator light, thanks guys

Go with a Sidekick.

The keyboard is decent and it has an LED indicator light for messages. You can even set it up to flash different colours for different types of messages (SMS, email, IM).

You get IM, web, texts/MMS, and some good apps.
The OS is ok but it's closed, which stinks.

If you don't need all the features and just need an indicator light, I definitely agree with Artemis. A SideKick would be a great choice for you.

I noticed the OP is on ATT, so the data stuff on SK wouldn't work. Text and calls will work, but nothing else.

You can also get Sidekick data service and voice on Tmo prepaid. For a a dollar a day, you get unlimited data/text on the sidekick.
