Default HTC TP2 Out of Stock at Verizon?

What gives with this? I thought the days of phones being out of stock were over? Why is Verizon out of stock online and in stores for the Touch Pro 2?

I was in 2 different Verizon stores yesterday and neither store had the Touch Pro 2 out in the showroom with the rest of the phones and when I asked they told me it was not in stock in their warehouse.

Call me picky it just seems odd nowadays that manufacturers and providers can't keep inventories up? Has it been really selling like hotcakes?

Anyone know when they will have more? I want to switch to Verizon and get one! It's the only phone out of Verizon's whole lineup that I like.

According to the last rep. HTC had to recall the stock for possible defect on TP2 for the same defect mine has ( loose housing causing keys light to cut off as well as the LCD when pressed). This thing are made in china so it would take a least 1 1/2 months to get verizon restock.

Aww bummer!! Well if I'm going to get this phone I would rather have it fixed of any issues. Ugh, don't want to wait that much longer but I'll wait and see.

TVTechGuru.....Sprint has the same phone and I think that have them in stock. Why do you want the Verizon model? With Sprint you get t.v., with Verizon you don't. Other than that, they are the same phone.

I know Sprint has it, but I want to leave Sprint. Don't get me wrong, Sprint has fast 3G service and has great features, but lacks saturation of it in my area. Too often my Curve switches from EVDO full bars to 1X or even roaming. It's terrible. I would love to stay with Sprint because their pricing is the best but when coverage isn't blanketed like the big 2 (ATT/VZW) it's pointless to have a smartphone. If I were just using a plain old phone for voice/text that'd be fine to stay with sprint. It's just not worth it anymore. I need consistent voice & data coverage.

I just saw the HTC Imagio, and haven't ruled that out even though it doesn't have physical qwerty.

I figured this had to be the problem. (*I had the same issue.*) Before I bought the Palm Pre, I had the Best Buy associate checked the coverage map. The map showed I was in a moderate to Great coverage area. So I got home and had 5 bars of roaming. LOL!! Took the phone back the next day. I was able to receive phone calls (*sometimes*), but obviously, I wasn't able to get on the internet.

Cool, so you see where I'm coming from! I did some more research and found a lot of Verizon customers who want to get the TP2 can't. They have all tried calling customer service to upgrade over the phone and out of several dozen people have gotten different answers and estimates of when it will be back in stock. Verizon rep's are saying anywhere between 2 weeks and 2 months!? Haha that's stupid, forget that!

Now thinking I might just switch to AT&T instead and get it there. They DO have it in stock!

Don't forget that even though they look same they are not exactly the same. The verizon/sprint have a better key board and 3.5 mm jack. The verizon has the battery cover with that grip thing on it which helps from slipping from your hands. But the AT&T does come with WM6.5.

Not having a 3.5mm jack isn't a deal breaker for me as I wouldn't use it as an iPod. I already have one. The battery covers look the same to me, both smooth plastic, no?
