Default Experience with Samsung Ace/Blackjack, anyone?

Hi everyone .. I was just wondering (and forgive me if this was recently posted cause I did a search and never came up with anything informative) .. has anyone on this site ever owned a Samsung Blackjack or Ace?

As mentioned in another post I made, I am shopping around while waiting on Bell to rectify a situation with my HTC Touch that has been on a "repair order" for over 3 months now, so I'm considering a new device altogether (if I can convince them to work something out with me). I really love the BB Curve and I think if I get a new phone it might end up being that particular one .. however I dropped by the Bell Kiosk in the mall today to have a look and admired the Samsung Ace (which was sitting side by side to the Curve). I think the Ace is a cute device and though some may say "it's bigger etc etc" than the Curve .. that is actually what I liked about it. When I'm talking on my cell phone, I like the phone to seem longer and closer to my mouth. I can't really explain why, it just seems more comfortable to hold I guess? I didn't ever want to venture from the "clamshell" or "flip" design of a cell phone for that particular reason. I just find it uncomfortable to hold a square device while talking. But to go bigger with the technology of smartphones and full keyboards, it seems you have to go with a square/rectangular shaped phone. I have owned many phones in my time and never EVER had a problem with the Samsung brand. Just wondering .. does anyone have any experience with these phones?

As far as the Ace, the general consensus seems to be that the Moto q9c is better. A lot of people recommend that phone over the Ace.

I currently run a BlackJack (1old style). While I've had no issue with the device it does have it's limitations.
Nearly all of the apps. that I depend on are third party.
Microsoft has very a limited number of applications available for mobile 6.1 OS.
Samsung has been a good brand for our household mobile phones, T.V,etc.
My limited experience with Samsung customer service has been good.

My next handset will definetly be a blackberry perhaps a curve or what ever AT&T has for cheap when I re-up in July. I'm here to gain some device / software knowledge.

Sorry, I substituted a word there, lol.

I had two BJ IIs, but sold them. The look is where it will stop for you. It's unstable and slow. You are better off with the 8330. I couldn't stand how long it took to get through menus and apps. With 6.1, it may be better, but it's still windows mobile.

I had the first Blackjack, it was very slow and froze a lot, but I gave it to my best gal pal and she loves it! She was also on a cheap pay as you go phone prior...

My experience with the Ace is that the phone is really great, has a bright screen, pretty fast, nice form factor, very thin. I come from BlackBerry and the Android system is great and so is the Android Market, so many great free apps. The let down was from Ace's battery. With very light use it won´t make it through the day. My BB 9780 with heavy use easily lasted the whole day and more. This battery issue with Ace has prompted me to return to my BlackBerry.
