Default Best OS

Which OS is best? I've looked around and I've seen several websites with comparisons, but they're either biased, outdated, or just not helpful. What do you think?

Best at what?

They all sacrifice something to gain something else... And "best" os is all about having a bias. Your bias determines which one fits best.

I would completely agree with papped on this one. The "best" OS is hard. Depends in who's eyes your looking. The carriers feel their latest official is the "best". Some members like some OS's and others hate the same ones.

Depends exactly what you can tolerate and what your looking for.

Sorry about the confusion. I thought about this question yesterday after posting this and realized I was not very clear. Which mobile OS is best for reasons of stability, available apps, web browsing, messaging, etc.?

I realize there will inevitably be bias in responses, but I'm interested to hear why people prefer the mobile OS they have as well as seeing what others have to say positively and negatively about others.

Again, sorry for the confusion. I'm still new to posting in forums

All depends. IPhone probably is best for web browsing and apps. Stability kinda varies from update to update. Also, stability should be far better on the iPhone because it doesn't do true multitasking...

WM is great for overall customization and has a lot of app support, free and paid. Messaging is pretty good. Stability isn't as much of an issue now as it was on older devices. The workflow on WM's interface is kinda slow though. Things take a lot of steps. Multitasking and customization are way better than iPhone.

S60 has a ton of apps. The email client and messaging clients suck though. S60v5 is crap. S60v3 is much better.

BB has a pretty streamlined workflow. Messaging and email are very good and true push mail work easier and more efficiently than most other solutions. Apps are pretty good, but there aren't as many and they're not advanced graphically and support is much less consumer centric than WM or iPhone.

Most would probably argue that the iPhone OS is the best, but I hate their app store policy and hate using the device and onscreen keyboard.

It is all matter of personal preference. The iPhone OS has been the most stable for me compared to the BB OS. The iPhone has the most available apps, and messaging on it is not bad once you get use to the touchscreen keyboard ( I type faster on my iPhone than on my Bold). Web browsing on the iPhone is also fantastic. The BB OS is the best for messaging IMO though ( due to shortcuts and that the BB is designed to be a great messaging device). Try them all out if you want and make your own personal decision.

The BlackBerry Storm has the worst OS. Even with the upgrades the lagging in typing messages is just terrible...web browsing=slow. Texting=cumbersome. Accelerator=slow. Apps=worse than bad. Memory=not enough. Overall OS=what happened?

Dunno, I mostly heard the opposite of that for the latest OS for the S1...

I agree with most of this except I don't hate the iPhone, I love it. Everything else he said is spot on.

Also want to add, I think the BlackBerry OS 5.0 is the best OS. It may not be the most exciting or visually stimulating, but it seems to be the smartest. That's just my opinion.
