Default Will Virgin Mobile block BB playbook tethering?

After just announcing the blackberry playbook and the ability to tether with your existing bb plan..does anybody know if virgin mobile usa has the ability to block this service on the 8530 because that would be a real shame.. i know it is against their policy to tether but that would make the playbook kind of useless..

Short of blocking Bluetooth completely, I doubt it. And even if they decided to do so, that would require a carrier update (which is something that Virgin is quite reticent to do) to BBOS.

Just load the tethering app on the VM BB, then pair the device via Bluetooth. You should be okay to tether the device via playbook (provided BBTabletOS supports it)

Most VMUS reps have little knowlege of such technical aspects aside from parroting the line from VMUS and its parent Sprint Prepaid Group (It is unsupported).

Also, tethering is technically a violation of VMUS's terms of service, so keep that in the front of your mind when you tether your Curve.

Hey, crackBerryTour, FYI, if you're on T-Mobile, your Curve is an 8520.
