Virgin Mobile Canada - sim card

I hope I am in the correct forum .... Has anyone else using Virgin Mobile Canada received a notice about replacing the sim card? I'd like to know why VM wants to give us a new sim card (for free) mine seems to be fine.
Anyone know anything about this?

A big group of Bell and Virgin Customers are getting their SIM replaced as a proactive measure in making sure you won't run into any problems down the road. As the company distributed a big batch under both carrier names that were recalled due to possibility in disruption in future service
