ViMo Canada Network?

so I'm on Virgin Mobile Canada. I am eagerly awaiting them to complete and finalize their HSPA network. I live in Manitoba, and have heard nothing concrete about when this will happen

I know a lot of their phones are "unavailable in Saskatchwan or Manitoba due to network differences" (according to their website), yet Sasktel has their 3G+ network up and running - which is what Virgin will be using.

Conact with Virgin customer service gets me no info other then "soon", "before you know it" "before summer" to an outright "I have no idea whatsoever"

Anyone have any better info then what I've got? I expect/assume Q1, 2011 sometime, but I would like to know how much longer I have to wait!

From what I have heard as Virgin Mobile will run off from MTS' HSPA network. MTS network release is supposedly anytime between March and June 2011. Thats all I've been told, I worked for Bell and I needed to know this info so I asked MTS many times and got a consistent answer between these months. Sorry if its not narrowed down enough

*sigh* knowing MTS, "between March and July 2011" means "late 2011 if you're lucky" in the real world. Really sucks cuz I'd like to upgrade my (dumb)phone but there is no point if this is coming soon. Thanks for the info though, I appreciate it

Another question: whats this about Rogers & MTS teaming up? any more info on that front ? I read the thread posted but it seems pretty vaugue.

UPDATE: I read in the Winnipeg Sun this morning that MTS will be rolling out their HSPA+ network March 31. Since Virgin Canada will be using the same towers, here's hoping they (Virgin) will launch HSPA+ the same day or shortly after. Will update again when I know more, just in case anyone else cares!

Thanks for posting confirmation Shao. I emailed Virgin Mobile Canada to see if they will be unleashing HSPA+ at the same time as MTS. Hoping they will, cuz I'm seeing a 9780 (or maybe I'll wait for the next-gen curve) in my future!

I have recieved an email back from Virgin Canada. I'll repost part of it here:

"Sadly, we don't have any specific dates on when the provinces of Manitoba will have HSPA network service. We are however currently working on the towers - as MTS has not allowed us to use their towers for this service connection in specific. But, as soon as the HSPA network becomes available in your province, we'll be sure to let everyone know."

I guess I gotta wait longer then I thought
