Exclamation Telus to Koodo with a Torch 9800

Im considering switching from Telus to Koodo but before doing so id like to hear feedback from others that have made the change.

Ive talked to Koodo support twice and of course received two different sets of answers to my questions and to be honest I have a heck of a lot more faith in the users here than I do with any wireless CS department

* Is my unlocked Torch compatible on the Koodo network (I believe that they piggy back on the Telus network)

* Will I have any data issues on their network

* How is Koodo billing? I ported to Rogers before Christmas from Telus and received my first bill two weeks later and it was astronomical. I went back to Telus

Cheers!

If your Torch is unlocked, yes it will run on Koodo properly as Telus owns Koodo.

You shouldn't have any data issues, however you may need to change the apn settings on the phone and possibly manually upload koodo mobile service books.

Not sure about Koodo billing never used them. But in general billing dates are usually randomly generated by the system and you first months bill will include prorated charges and the following month's charges as well. This is done the same for almost all carriers in Canada

The same thing happing to me, I'm using a Torch from Rogers with Koodo, they told me to create a new APN profile and enter the following configuration settings into the appropriate fields:
◦APN: sp.koodo.com
◦Proxy server: 74.49.0.18
◦Port: 80
...
However I found the APN at Settings> Device> TCP IP... but it doesnt ask me for the Proxy server or any port... Does someone know where I can find it... because my bbm n facebook is not working.. well the Social-combo that i took with koodo

Thank you
