Default Should I stick with Fido?

I am currently with Fido and I want to get a BlackBerry. At first I was debating between the Curve 8900 and the Bold 9000. But after hearing about the Onyx, I think that it is definitely worth waiting for it to come out.
I currently have a $25 voice plan + $6 Call Display. I mainly intend to use my to-be-purchased BlackBerry for e-mail and Facebook. Fido's BlackBerry add-on of $15 would allow me to have unlimited e-mails and the Onyx's Wi-Fi can compensate for Facebook (and other web surfing use of course). This would bring my monthly bill to $46 + tax.
I was told by an acquaintance of mine who works for Rogers though that going with them is better than Fido. Having been a Fido customers for almost 4 years now I can make that switch for free. However, the monthly cost with Rogers would be $25 (voice plan) + $25 (BlackBerry value pack) + $6.95 (System Access Fee) + $0.50 (9-1-1 Fee) = $58.45 + tax. As a plus over Fido, I would get voicemail and WhoCalled which I could do without to be honest. But, I have always liked Fido's billing by the second.
So my question is, what is the real advantage to switching to Rogers for BlackBerry? Is the $12.45 I will pay more every month worth it?

The only advantage to switching to Rogers for the sole purpose of getting a blackberry would be to take advantage of the hardware subsidy. BUT you'd be committing to a 3-year term, losing your per-second billing and losing your earlier evening/weekend calling. If you don't need voicemail, that's extra money you're throwing away ($15 for personal email plan+$6 for call display = $21 with fido as opposed to $25 with rogers). I would suggest you to wait for the Onyx, and use the extra $144 you'd save in a year (x3 years = $432) and putting it towards buying an unlocked Onyx when it is released

i had the same issue but in turn i just bought the bold out right rather than getting it at rogers by taking their migration program cuz overall i'll be paying more per month as a new customer at rogers even tho i get the phone as a HUP, but considering that ur with fido might as well speak with retention and see what they can do
