Default Service support for unlocked phones

Hello All

I would really appreciate it if someone can answer this question for me

Before I commit myself to any of the following unlocked curves (all the ones with wifi): 8900, 8820, 8320, and bb Bold, where can I find out if there are any non rogers/telus cell carrier that is able to support it? I am located in Canada, running between the 416 and 613 area codes over the next year or so.

Also, are new customers require to purchase any sort of mandatory dataplans for their smartphones?

Thanks
