Default Recent bad reception Bell

We live about 50 KM North of Ottawa on the Québec side and we are both having troube with our BB. One is a Curve and the other a World. The weird thing is we rent our property (mountain top) to Telebec for their tower. We have lived here for 3 years with great reception. For the last month, my curve has been getting cut offs and dropped calls and the World, only since today. I contacted the Bell tech. line from a hard line and told me to update my BB version which I did and nothing.
We have no home phone so very frustrating. Will have to go to neighbors to call Bell.
Pins, e-mails and text messages are fine. What's up?

I thought I was the only one noticing this! My Blackberry has been dropping calls this past month in the same spots I go to. It dropped a call at my work and the signal strength is really wonky at times. Sometimes there is no signal as well it shows OFF.

I could just move and I get 4 bars then move and get 1 or 2 bars. Last time I had this issue was with VirginMobile and changed phones and the issue went away.

Calling Bell today! So irritated with this. Now I can't even take my messages, let alone have a conversation. You'd think when there's a tower right on the mountain the reception would be ok...

I really don't understand what is going on with this as I am sitting here and the bars keep on changing from 1 to 5 then back down.

This isn't right...

So here's Bell's story/version:

First I called the tech. support. They took my number and confirmed that they could see the dropped calls and difficulties. They say that the network teams have been aware of the problem since Sept. 2008 and won't give a delay as to when the problem will be resolved.

I asked to be transfered to Customer Service to complain. I'm self employed and can't afford to not have a functionnal phone from my home.

I was on hold with a rep who was on hold with a manager for about 30 minutes. Basically, they told me I could opt out of my contract without any fees because they can't fix the problem. So really, they don't care. It also tells me that the problem is not close to be resolved.

So now I'm stuck because Rogers dosen't work out here ans Telus does but dosen't have great coverage overall across Canada (Iv'e heard).

The Customer Rep said that the fact that we have a Telecommunications tour on our property does not assure good reception. Its all about the traffic and available waves. Apparently, all carriers face this problem.

This may explain your reception problem at work?

Who knows!
