Default OS6 on Videotron yet?

Is anyone using OS6 on Videotron yet? My wife has a Bold 9700 and I'd like to upgrade her to OS6 but I need to know if the Service Books are available yet.

Complication? And probably all for nothing? Did you read the post at all?

The process to back up the service books will take you less than 5 minutes to do (I did it when I first upgraded). You need plug the phone in to back it up and install the OS anyway, so you're probably looking at around 3 minutes to actually make sure you'll have the service books. That post gives you very simple step by step instructions too.

You're right, it might be all for nothing, but installing an OS will take about 30 minutes to do. Why not take a few extra minutes to make sure that you'll have a perfectly working phone afterwards?

Yes I did read your post. And I said that I don't want to do what you're suggesting. Backing up the service books is beside the point. I knew how to do that already. What I want to avoid is taking half an hour to install OS6, experimenting for a while then finding out it doesn't work, then taking another half an hour to reinstall OS5.

I don't want to waste an hour and a half doing something that boring. What I'm looking for is someone using OS6 on Videotron and telling me: "You're not wasting your time, it works!". I appreciate that you're trying to help but obviously you don't have the answer.

Well I guess you need to explain yourself better then. Your OP sounds like you're more concerned with the Service Books being compatible, which they will be, if you follow the instructions that I linked you to. You didn't even clarify what you wanted answered when you had the chance in your second post.

OS 6 on a 9700 is OS 6 on a 9700, doesn't matter what carrier you're with. The only difference is going to be the Service Books, which takes a few minutes to backup and restore. You're in the wrong forum if you're looking to see how OS 6 runs on a 9700, head over to the OS 6 or 9700 forum then if that's what you want to know. It's going to work just like everyone else's.

You have to ask the right question to get the answer you're looking for. I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense to you.

Also, I don't understand why it's so boring to update your OS. Make a few clicks then do something else, browse CB, make yourself a snack, go for a run, make love to your wife, there's no need to sit there and watch the progress bar move around...

I have the 9700 on Videotron, and have installed every leak of OS6 which has appeared here on Crackberry. Except for 6.0.0.499, every other release has been error free for me. Just do what everyone suggests by backing up your data, and then install the update. The service books will be fine, and your phone will re-register on the Blackberry network. Good luck!

I did.

From the sync cable; desktop offered me to upgrade.

Worked fine.
