Talking New Thread Category for WIND please?

Since WIND is launching next week, could we please have a dedicated WIND thread category? I'm sure there will be new WIND users who will have lots to say regarding their BBs and whatnot, good (hopefully more) and bad (hopefully less).

Thanks, CB.

So we'd have a WIND category, but no Fido?

WIND is supposed to be the 4th major carrier. Fido is just a subdivision of Rogers. Just like there's no Solo or Koodo or Virgin Mobile forums

I agree! WIND mobile ftw! Here's hoping they really shake up the market and give some real competition. Canada has been on the crappy end of the stick for a long time.

Go WIND!!

They won't survive. They're ignoring the second largest market in Canada (Quebec). Wonder what moron came up with that strategy.

I give them till end of next year. People should really reconsider switching to them before spending money on them.

I don't blame you for being ignorant on the matter as the general mass public would not know whats happened or happening behind the scenes in the wireless industry.

What you should know is that the reason that WIND is not in Quebec for their launch is because, back in 2008 when there was the auction to buy licenses to operate as a wireless provider, Videotron bought ALL of the licenses for Quebec and WIND mobile just couldn't match it as they were looking to operate across Canada as much as possible and not just in one province as Videotron does.

WIND didn't decide to not operate in Quebec, why would they ignore a huge market? It was clearly for reasons outside of their control. WIND mobile will do just fine, trust me.

Even if WIND folded the day after I subscribed, I still wouldn't mind. A day free of contracts with a reasonable plan is better than chaining myself again to a three-year.

Also, yeah, please do some research before making attacks.

They are carrying the 9700 and a few other phones, the partnership with RIM and Wind was announced yesterday. I tried to go on their site but the shop link is still down. They launched at 9:30am this morning. They have signed a deal with Blockbuster and will be going into their locations in Alberta. Now only if I hadn't signed on to a 3 year contract with Rogers.

Yep - they're offering the 9700 for $450.. They know the site is slow and sometimes most the pages aren't loading due to the overload. They have posted the information here though:

I'm anxiously awaiting the WIND launch in Edmonton. I hear it should happen before the end of February.

Goodbye Rogers.
