Default New Cricket BES

So Cricket now has Blackberry service. I have a Storm flashed over to Cricket with all non-BES services working. I called and was interested in upgrading to the Blackberry plan and was told that only the Blackberrys they sell will work, which I flatly don't believe. That's what they said about the regular plan, it was just a question of having the right info to plug in when I programmed the phone. Now that this is operational, does any one have information on setting up an existing Blackberry to work with it??

I have been wondering the same thing, as I have a storm 9530. I flashed the phone about 3 months ago and overall I am pretty happy. I have tried the original service books from a Cricket BB but they did not work. I even went to the store the other day to look at their settings, and I noticed a few things.

1. I am running on CDMA channel 1050, and theirs was a different frequency.
2. Their phone is a Tri-ban while the 9530 is a dual band (probably causing worse coverage when you are in rural areas).
3. When looking at the screen accessed by ##000000 they have a couple extra lines of data shown below. I don't recall the exact numbers that they had listed for each entry, but it didn't matter since I do not have a place to enter the info anyways.

I have been trying to find out if there is any way to upgrade the phone firmware ( I am not sure that a new OS would do it, but I could be wrong) to gain these features. As I believe that if we can enter these numbers along with the Cricket service books, then the only other step would be to switch to the Cricket BB plan.

If anyone else has any ideas or answers please chime in. We could be the first ones to really get everything working on the Cricket network for a flashed BB.

I would suggest that you visit Howard Forums. There are many people there who are knowledgeable re: flashed phones.
