Question Curve from Virgin Mobile?

Hi! I am wondering a few things about the curve 8530 from Virgin Mobile. I have read a few threads but I don't really know what some of the things mean.

First off, I currently have a Bold 9650 through Verizon. My boyfriend is looking into getting the Curve 8530 from VM, but before he does, can anyone tell me what the differences will be between having a curve through verizon vs virgin? Aside from the coverage, which isn't a big deal, I have read that VM doesn't allow BES to work? What will that change? Are there any other big differences?

Has anyone had experience with BB on the VM network? I absolutely LOVE my BB, but verizon is way too expensive to set him up with a plan right now.

Oh, and one last thing.. are phones through walmart the same quality as all the others? I had heard from a Verizon rep that they were lesser quality (however, I got my first BB from walmart and it lasted like a champ)

Thanks and I'm sorry if these questions have been posted elsewhere! I looked, I promise

Why can't I send or receive picture or video messages (MMS)?

You will have the ability to send and receive picture messages (MMS). Virgin Mobile is targeting Summer 2010 for the launch of Picture Messaging on the Blackberry Curve 8530. You will be advised when Picture Messaging is available. You will not have to do anything on the device to enable this feature- it will be enabled automatically to your smartphone.

In the meantime there are other ways to share photos and videos with your family and friends:
- Email
- Upload to Facebook or MySpace

That's on their website. I assumed you meant Virgin Mobile USA. I plan on getting a VM phone as well, but I don't have one right now, so I cant answer your question.

the only diference between the verizon and sprint is the coverage. blackberry curve no matter from where you buy it from. it will be the same quality built no diference at all. only BIS works with vmusa, not sure if that will ever change. everything that works on every other curve 8530 works with the one on vmusa.

Thumbs up Highly Satisfied Virgin Mobile USA User!

I switched to Virgin Mobile USA several months ago from AT&T and it has been a hugely positive change! I always had dropped calls and data outages on AT&T, but on VMUSA, I had none of that nonsense, as all calls and data usages are quick and reliable.

Also, VMUSA is a division of Sprint, so you reap the same excellent network and reliability for much less!

They actually have top-up cards at Target.
Which you can use, obviously, to pay your account and whatnot.

In addition to the mentioned top-ups, you can use Paypal as well.
