Cricket
Let me just start by saying, they have some very unhelpful customer service representatives. Beyond aggrivating trying to deal with them.
Bought a curve 8530 on craigslist for dirt cheap. was a native cricket one, not flashed (took me weeks to find a used, non flashed blackberry JUST SO I could have BBM)
Had it activated. Didn't have time to try out BBM cause I couldn't remember any PINs right off the top of my head. Drove home, and can't get it to work. Learned a lesson there.
Tried making a call. The person who activated the phone messed up the CDMA setup page badly. Nothing worked. Called customer service, (all i needed was the second number on it i found out after looking at similar blackberry) Took, no joke, 15 minutes to let support know I knew the problem. Would have been longer had I not lost my cool and Yelled just tell me this number. They were helpful after that...
Anyway, didn't fix my problem of connecting to BIS. went on for about an hour scanning these and other forums. Finally found a thread with someone with a similar problem. The person who activiated theirs didn't switch plans, just activated it. Drove 20 mins into town and told the woman at a different store the exact problem, and that my research said I had the wrong plan. Sure enough, it was the old android plan still. Switched it, and she told me it was fine and dnandy. First thing i notice is edge is just edge and not EDGE. I ask her, and she says no she promises that was the problem. I drive home, and still nothing. find a page from the browser email setup that said something like my BIS was blocked or deactivated. Here goes customer support again...
This time, spent 2.5 hours with them. I, the customer, had to explain to the Technical Support people that cricket has restricted my access to BIS, and RIM isn't the one to cut me off from it. So she starts googling the problem. And, no joke, asked me to set up a new email. I almost screamed. Somehow kept my cool, and followed the steps. Nothing. Nothing. NOthing. She puts me on hold. After 5 mins, hangup.
anyway, I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem? Ive set up many blackberries before for other people (this is my 4th also) and I'm completely stumped.
