1. Anyone use BES on Credo? Any issues, besides the hefty $45/month price?
While I was with CREDO I did not use BES and was discouraged from doing so because of the hefty fee.
2. They have a few devices, the Bold 9650 being the highest end one. How quickly do they roll out new BBs? Since they're connected to Sprint, I would guess they don't offer anything Sprint doesn't offer. How long did it take them to get the 9650? I can wait a few months for the new Touch models, but not years.
The main reason I left CREDO was because I desired a new OS 7 device and no one in customer service could give me a release date for the carrier to offer devices. To get some idea about how long it takes for devices to be offered, I will tell you my first experience with a BlackBerry was last April on CREDO using a Cure 8330. A year later the device was having serious problems and the customer service center decided to replace the Curve 8330 with the Curve 3G 9330. I called CREDO on September 24th and asked what they might offer to make me abandon the opportunity presented by T-Mobile to acquire the Bold 9900 during a one-day rebate promotion. I have been a happy T-Mobile subscriber for one month.
3. Can you unlock a CDMA phone from say Sprint or Verizon and use it on Credo?
I watched eBay auctions looking for CREDO mobile phones to get a replacement for the second Curve 9330 on my account and was able to find one. I would not recommend attempting to modify a device from another carrier to work on CREDO. The first step of their activation process is validating whether the hardware is assigned to them.
4. How is Credo's customer service? I tend to break my Blackberrys every 6 months or so. Are they responsive and helpful? |
CREDO's staff is very attentive, but their hours are rather narrow considering their lack of storefronts. It was a customer service representative who confirmed that buying a CREDO mobile device from eBay would be okay as long as it could be confirmed as a CREDO device.
