Canadian carriers have nearly completed phasing out CDMA BBs

Telus: 9800, 9700, 9300, 9100, and the CDMA 8530
Bell: 9800, 9700, 9300, 9100, no cdma
Virgin mobile: 9800, 9700, 9300, 9100, and the CDMA 8530
Sasktel: 9700, 9300, 9100, and they don't appear to ever clear out old stock (9550, 9530, 8530, 8130, 8230)

And checking their non-BlackBerrys, the trend of buying HSPA phones only to replace their CDMA phones is getting close to completion.

I really hope that the Harper passes unlocking laws soon. after that things should really start to shake up.

You can have them unlocked now.

well, yeah. But with the unlocking laws if you buy a phone without a contract it would be automatically unlocked, which currently isn't the case.
