Default can you use another service providers APN if your carrier doesn't support tether?

My service (Metro PCS) doesn't have the BB as modem service so I want to try Tether, but I'm not sure if you can use another's APN or not.
Thanks!!! ?:-)

I'm fairly sure you cannot by traditional, as it is most likely blocked by the carrier. You can, however, use either Tether or PDAnet and go that route if you want to use your BB as a modem.

Try tetherbridge instead... pdanet needed my APN settings but TetherBridge played nice with my phone even though it's one of the unsupported ones...

And TetherBridge is cheaper. And it has a free version.
