Default BlackBerry torch 9800 on Wind Mobile

I would like to switch carriers from Telus to Wind mobile, but have a question. I know that Wind operates on the AWS band and the torch is a pentaband antenna. My question is. How do i know I am able to use Winds frequency and that the AWS band is not locked on the 9800 ( I haven't unlocked yet) Another question is, Do all of the functions and features work?

You won't get data what so ever, but you will be able to make calls, send texts. But nothing data related.

Its just like T-mobile how it can only access EDGE, but Wind doesn't have an EDGE network only 3G HSPA

Yes it is however Wind doesn't have a 2G network. Only a 3G HSPA network and the Torch doesn't support AWS 3G frequency, thats why it won't work
