Default Bell unlimited email data usage?

Hey,

Just got a blackberry pearl through a promo deal at Bell (in BC, Canada).

Included in the package is unlimited email, specifically 'Unlimited Email Blackberry 15'. Can anyone tell me exactly what this means? The service rep was fairly vague. I've got it set up, forwarding my gmail through a bell.blackberry.net address, but I'm wondering if I'm going to get charged data usage for attachments or whatnot.

I don't have a data plan at all, just the unlimited email, so every kb will cost me extra... making me very cautious. Also, does anyone know how my email usage is displayed on the 'unbilled usage' page on the Bell site? is it displayed as part of the raw data? Because all the 'data' I've used is email, but on the website it's showing as having used around .15 MB of data.

Thanks for any help, I really don't want to wait on hold on the phone to Bell only to talk to someone who will give me the rounaround.

Your package/plan that you got, "Unlimited Email BlackBerry 15" means you can recieve/send unlimited amount of emails along with unlimited PIN messaging/email (BlackBerry Messenger). As far as I'm concerned, and I've checked with others with the same plan, you shouldn't be able to access your browser (meaning you can't access websites, it won't allow you since you don't have the plan/service books). You might be able to use the browser and if that's the case, you most likely will be charged for usage, but for e-mails, you shouldn't need to worry about how much data you have used, ignore the ".15 MB of data" - you have unlimited so your usage means nothing to you.

Sweet, thanks, that's what I was looking for. And this should apply to any email address I have registered with BB, such as Gmail, correct?

That is correct, you can have up to 10 e-mails registered to your BlackBerry and all of them, you can use to recieve and send e-mails. (*thinks*: why couldn't Bell go one step further and just provide unlimited web?)

True enough, but it's probably better for my productivity level that I don't have access to the web :P

Thanks again, this gave me way more peace-of-mind.

You will not be charged any data charges, except for tethering, you will just lose your browser icon in about a week from an IT policy that will be pushed down to your phone.

This is how Bell offers email only. You can use your browser before the icon disappears without fear of being charged.
