Although we don't use bis/bes we can get push mail through 3rd party apps and messaging as well and quite frankly the only difference I notice is the price reduction. We have great reception and good customer service which is more than we got from our prior carrier. I think that cricket will continue to pick up customers as they grow. I am glad that we flashed the phones to Cricket. It was a good decision.

You can get your gmail to work with free push mail using a program called shangmail. There's a thread for it on this forum that gives step by step instructions. I had the best luck with version 4.51. My gmail and other accounts push straight to my phone without problems. PM me if you need any help.

Anyone who is truely business minded knows that saving money is making money.
How did you get it done? I am with Sprint and have a BB tour (mine) and a Curve 8330 (spouse), and we are seriously thinking about going to Cricket. If you can tell me how to get it done or if you can point me in the right direction, I will really appreciate it.

You can PM me with the details. Thanks in advance.

I flashed my Sprint Tour to cricket and all is working; mms, sms, browser. The problem is, I have tried a couple versions of shangmail and none of them work. Once it starts, it hangs and doesn't do anything. I tried logicmail and while it worked, it didn't push anything; I had to manually retrieve the emails. How do I make shangmail work on my tour? By the way I am running Driphter hybrid v.14 on top of OS .975.

Cricket wants to charge $50 to flash my old storm 2. I have a plan with Verizon for a Torch 9850 and with AT&T for a Torch 9810.

I want to introduce my father in-law into the world of smartphones and he extremely oldschool when it comes to his business practices, so he doesnt feel there's much benefit to be had by getting a smartphone. he refuses to leave Cricket because he pays so little. I've talked him into trying to use the storm2 on Cricket, but I have two questions for you guys whom have flashed thier BB's to cricket before. He really doesnt like their BB because he has large hands and large fingers and doesnt like that the physical keyboard is so small on it.

Can I flash the Storm2 and have a BIS access to the PIM apps like BBM and Email?
Is there a way that I can flash the phone for him?

I'm convinced that after he starts using it, he will see the benefit and continue to do so.
