Honestly for 100 smacks, it is a good deal, especially if you root it.

I picked up a couple of firesale Touchpads a month ago for gifts for family members. I found WebOS to be quite nice thanks to some recent updates. For the price, you really cant go wrong. The browser is very good and it makes a good digital photo frame. It also comes with Skype and Kindle (and email too, but I havent used that). I did have an issue connecting to my home wifi. This got resolved by getting my aging router replaced (thanks, Telus). My major complaints are how heavy it feels compared to the PlayBook and the quality of the screen resolution (same as iPad, but not as nice as the PlayBook). I'm still quite happy with my PlayBook and prefer it over the Touchpad, but cant wait for OS2 to drop.

For $100, why not...

Touchpads are pretty kewl. My PlayBook does not feel threatened by its presence in my collection, though. Not a bad way to go for 100 bucks.

I buy most of my electronic toys re-furbished.
My last phone, 1/2 the price of a new one.....
Most re-furbished stock, is folk getting them, deciding they are too complicated, and then returning them.
My phone had the phone unwrapped, the memory card unwrapped and fitted to the phone. That's all that was "re-furbished" the charger was still sealed in the box.
They are usually a great deal.

Great deal... they'll sell out in seconds. I hear they'll be getting ICS.
Toss in Skype and it is a pretty cool tool. - 12-19-2011, 09:07 AM #21
Thought about it, but went for a trade for a Kindle Fire instead.
