Hard to believe it beats all those phones though. I have two friends back in Phx who are managers for Sprint and they say that it was way over hyped. They said they will stick with their old school BB's until the new one pops up for them. But, it does look like a great phone! What sucks for Sprint too, is that they only have the rights for it through 09, then VZW gets it.

I have to say i will be leaving my beloved bb for the pre. i have one now along w my bb and i think its a better device.

the reason they are offering it to verizon after sprint is cuz they need a large customer base to get the apps store w enuf apps. if only 5 mill buy it on sprint then not enuf developers will put out aps for it. sprint has a 40 million ish customer base, they are saying that its gonna take some 10 mill people owning the device to get the apps store up to par w the iphone. thats 25% of sprint customers, and its more likely to have the 10 mill customers if they open it up to the 60 million ish verizon customers also. i dont mind that both providers will have it, that means more software updates and more apps, less problems (more than likely)....

Just checked it out on youtube. I'm not that impressed with the look/style. I'll stick to my trusty Bold.

First, pictures or you don't have one...

Everyone loved the storm on day one too, now look at them!

I live in NYC and walking around, the blackberry to "other" ratio is very high for the bb. I don't see the pp or any other phone taking that slot for now.

Who cares if he has it or not...

Unless you're actually gonna switch to Sprint, who cares about the Pre in general until at least 2010...

Sprint. Ewwww. To me the carrier is as important as the device. AT&T isn't perfect, but they have done me well where I live and where I travel and are cheaper for me than Verizon. My attitude is carrier first, device second.

I find the Pre to be extremely ugly looking. It looks short, stubby and fat.

My concern would be how well the slide out keyboard works. Otherwise, it is a nice looking phone, but not one that I would trade my Bold for.

I would really like the pre better if there were a side slider rather than a bottom slider. I would also like to see a on screen keyboard as well, which it dosent have.
I played with one today and am pretty impressed at the snappy os.
I will hope they do a slight re-design and I may consider it. Even if the nitched the whole slider function and made it a complete touchscreen I think that would make it better.

Oh an magic man does have one in his hands.
And magic....... U almost got the name right, lol
