Warranty - Orange

I'm currently using a 9800 but not too impressed with it; therefore, I'm planning to buy a 9780 from Ebay soon. The 9800 was given to me as an upgrade by Orange. What I wanted to know is this: If I have any problems with the 9780 (Im seeing a few posts regarding keypad issues), would I contact Orange about it? Or would I need to send the handset back to RIM for possible replacement?
I understand that the handset comes with a 1 year hardware warranty.

I'd send it to RIM as they will deal with it and the service should be quicker.
