Default Unlocked Orange blackberry not working properly with o2 sim

Hi guys, new here so please dont slate me if im doin it wrong..
right so i had a blackberry curve 8520 working fine and well in o2 with my blackberry bolt on. My brother swapped me his blackberry the last day so i now have an 8900. his was an unlocked orange phone that he was using in ireland with an irish network so he never used it with bbm or anything. Ive tried to activate the blackberry services on my new phone with my o2 sim in i was told i need to go to options-advanced options- host routing table- activate- and then do a battery pull. ive done it a few times and the gprs sign will still not go into capitals. Is it true that i need to ring up orange and deassociated the PIN and IMEI with their network or something? what will i say to them?
Sorry for the long story but im desperate here.

Hi

What you need to do is plug your 8520 into your PC, open BB desktop manager and select switch device. When prompted plug in the new one and follow instructions. After this go to BlackBerry Internet Service n sign into your account and select change device. This should do the trick.

If however your brother had a blackberry internet service account with Orange Ireland then he will have to get the PIN released from that account

Good luck.

Your brother needs to contact Orange seeing how it use to belong to him. Needs to release the pin.
