Default Travel in Europe - Orange UK Roaming Bundles - advice!

Hello all,

Have rung Orange, looked at the website, looked at posts on here, just need some further clarification, if anyone can offer their help!

I'm using a BB 9700 on Orange UK - off to France for 2 weeks, want to keep my phone with me, mainly for emails, not really for surfing. What's the best/cheapest way?! Don't want to come back and find a huge bill.

These roaming 30-day bundles that Orange offer - are they any good for BB usage? The tariff is: 3mb for £5, 10mb for £12. I'd happily pay £12 for peace of mind, seems quite reasonable, but what with the BB being constantly connected - emails pushed through, etc - will the 10mb be enough to last it for 2 weeks?

Any help or experience welcomed!

Alright mate,I am on Orange also and last year went to Tenerife with my 9700, I did some research and spoke to orange and eventually took a travel data bundle of 100mb for £30.My monthly data usage was 150mb so i knew i could use my phone as much as usual and be safe.I used it mainly for twitter e mails and bbm my family in uk daily sending pic from the poolside over bbm of the kids having fun.
You tell them what date you are going and thus when you want it to start and when you will arrive home so your original tarrif kicks back in again.Only tips i can give you is to switch your bb off when flying home and switch back on when you land cause if you dont you will sill be on the foreign provider ie movista in spain until the next time you turn off your bb,which could be an expensive mistake. Also you might want to install the free data monitoring app Minimona so you can track your usage as you go.

Cheers Highlander
