TELUS - No data plan, but i have bbm?

Hey guys,
First off id like to say thanks in advance.
But i recently got a blackberry on a student plan which has no data what so ever.
I cant download thrid party apps but some how i have a working bbm.
My bbm works when data services are on which was expected but im afraid that i may be getting charged extra.
Does anyone have any idea of how this happend and if im getting charged extra or not?

I think that you need to make sure how it's working becuse it says that you do have a data plan and you use it with the BIS that is not free so you will provably get charged for that.
you can also use it nor much and see what's happens...

Which student plan did you get??
