Default New Sun Cell Blackberry

Hi, I just recently applied for a SUN Blackberry plan 999.

Previously I'm using Globe Blackberry on a Bold 9700.

My globe's blackberry is still active when I applied for Sun
as I don't want it to be cut before I can confirm that Sun can work.

Yesterday someone called from Sun that my service will be activated in 24 hrs.

However upto now I still can't connect to BIS. Will there be a problem
if my Globe BIS is still active and registered on my phone?

Does SUN need to do anything?

I think you need to go to SUN so they can check your phone... not an expert on this... but try registering it in Advance Option> Host Routing Table, hope that helps...

did you tell them (SUN rep) that you've used Globe Blackberry plan before you tried applying to SUN plan? from what i've read in other posts, there will be a glitch on switching plan for your BB. Here's the quote from the posts that i've read.

Quote:
hi. i recently got hold of a blackberry curve and decided to use my sun postpaid plan on it. at first i didnt take notice of what everyone was raving about (bbm). but then, i tried to use the globe prepaid sim that came along with the phone kit and used the free 1-day pass. i have enjoyed it. too much that i decided to get BIS on sun too. pero when i was to process the add-on BB service application sa Sun Cellular, i was informed that if ever i did use or register any BB service on a different network, i might not be able to use it unless i have it "UN-TAGGED" (that was the term he used). i tried going to globe to inquire about it but some lady named Lian said that, that's not possible. its like saying that your BIS will be locked sa globe forever.
so, i think you better ask the Globe or Sun for your problem.

if you are going to use wi-fi via ubertwitter, you dont need a data plan for that.

SUN doesnt need to do anything, but Globe needs to "release" your pin... im guessing like many others, your blackberry was from Globe also... therefore most probably that phone will be also network locked... meaning suns sim wont work until its unlocked... once unlocked and pin released from globe... you should have no problem using your globe bb on suns network

If you're scared of being charged for data services... disable the data services or simply uncheck the mobile network and enable wifi only... once thats done you'll be using wifi exclusively.. and no globe/sun/smart services are being used... therefore no extra charges on your bill

what apps do you have installed? or running in the background? because there is the possibility that you have a app running in the background that is constantly connected to the internet when you are just walking around with your daily life.. and since you're not connected to wifi... the connection automatically goes to gprs... check what you have installed first
