Default sun BIS

How long does it take for my BIS to be activated? I applied last tue dec 20, they say within this week. Then on wed somebody called me to confirm my activation, i asked her when will it be activated she said within 24 hours and she would call me, yesterday i was waiying for her to call but nada! it has been past 72 hours but still nothing, and i believe i will be billed already for this even if im not using it yet.

My phone is from AT&T so setting are AT&T still so I tried texting ACTIVATE to 2300 it says i would get my setting then later it could not configure, I'm worried about this.

If anybody has same experience please tell me what to do.

I'm experiencing this same problem....

I'm on SUN add on BIS 350 and using bold 9900. When within wifi zone... my wifi signal bars are complete but the BB logo doesnt shift beside the wifi bars... it stays beside the 3G icon.

My wife is on the same plan but using curve 9300... and hers works perfectly... whenever wifi is available, the BB icon shifts to beside the wifi signal bars.

I tried experimenting with a friend as he is on Globe BB plan... and when we swapped the sim cards... my phone worked... the BB logo shifted to beside the wifi signal bars. So i guess this is an issue with Sun network or service books configurations not updated to OS 7 yet?

Anybody here know a solution to this? help would be appreciated.. Thanks!

Richard

the 4 dots shifts to where bandwidth is faster. maybe your 3G connection is faster than that of wifi at that time.

Default suncell bb newbie

sunshop told me if the edge turns to EDGE it is now under BIS.
is this true.

what is the speed given by suncell for BIS?

it is very slow. i got 4 bars on my EDGE signal strength and yet. it takes time for webpages to load. need to refresh the pages for it to load fully.

EDGE is 2G and runs at 2G speeds. 3G speeds are a lot faster.

Yes, when they are in caps that means you are running through BIS.

try setting your bb to 3G only (in mobile networks)... then you will be getting 3G signal which is much faster

But if the 3G signal is weak it's gonna drain his battery much faster.

Just because you can't get 3G it means Sun's not 3G. It just means you are in an area with weak 3G signals.

I get 3G signals most of the time. Sometimes it's weak. Sometimes it's strong. It depends on how far you're away from the tower.

Sometimes it also depends on the OS as I've had great success in getting 3G signals since I upgraded my phone's OS.

made a manual network scan as told by a suncell customer service rep due to connection problems.
sun is 2G, smart 3G, and globe 3G.
when i told them this. they said, sorry but your area is not yet covered by 3G,
kindly go to setting and put it into 2G.
i cannot even log in to ym fb and twitter how much more mobile internet.
i think i made a very bad and expensive decision on this one.

When I first got this torch I also couldn't get 3G even on a manual scan. I then searched through CB and read that some were getting improved radio reception on certain OS versions. They say the reason for this is because certain radio files do not work well with some providers.

I tried several until I hit the jackpot on my current OS. 3G all the time from home since then!

it seems to have improved after i manualy selected the 2G option instead of the combined 2G/3G now i can slowly update the apps via app world which i wasn't able to do for a whole day.

my Curve 9360 is os7.0 what file do i need to update it? and is it safe? will i void my warranty by doing an upgrade?
