Orange UK Sim Only plan and Blackberry add on

Hi Guys

I'm very new to the Blackberry and have a question if I may

I've signed up to Orange for a sim only plan 500 mins, unltd texts and 500mb internet £20 a month

I've got a brand new BB Bold 9700, sim free and unregistered

I want to use the sim in this phone, I've been told I need a Blackberry add on to my plan

I spoke to Orange who confirmed I can't use the 500mb internet that comes with my plan and that I need a blackberry add on

Is this correct?


Also i've been told from one person at Orange that the Blackberry add on only gives 10 to 15mb allowance for a month, which seems tiny

Another person at Orange said that its 250mb allowance

Can anyone confirm what allowance i'll get, and does this sit on top of the 500mb i'll get

Meaning i'll get 500mb plus the blackberry allowance, or will I just get the Blackberry allowance



Finally, what are peoples average data usage, i'm coming from an iphone with a 1gig allowance where I use around 250 - 300mb a month

Oh i'm on contract, rather than PAYG

hi,

i work for orange and deal with blackberry's

your data should be unlimited but may be subject to a 500mb fair usage allowance. to be honest unless youre downloading music all the time then you will hardly touch 250mb....to use bb you do require the bb bundle but you shouldnt need the 500mb package for general data as it included with the bb bundle so get it removed.

The 500mb data bundle already comes with the sim only plan as an extra

So I just need to add the BIS Bundle to my sim only plan and i'll get 500mb data from my BIS Bundle, or 250mb?

I'm guessing that I won't use the 500mb that comes with the sim only plan as it's different apn's

The £5 bis bundle is unlimited but comes with a fair usage policy of 500mb, where there getting 250mb from is back last year orange did a bis promotion for £2.50 where you got 250mb of bis data with it.

Your 500mb data which is part of your plan will just sit there doing nothing as all data will come out of the bis unlimited package first so never touch your data.

Do you have any info for buying a prepaid plan for the time I am travelling in the UK with my BB? Also, are there any known problems with buying a BB data plan for a BB that I currently have active in the States?
