Orange Uk: Signal at big events

Every time i go to a concert or to a sports event, such as large football stadium etc I always loose my signal, yet other people using their phones seem to be able to pick up 3g - Is there any reason my 9700 (and 9000 before it) can never get a 3g signal in these circumstances - as i say other people around me dont seem to have a problem but my device never works, without fail it will always struggle. I wanted to keep up with the football last night while at a gig with 1000s of other people - they all seemed to be able to keep up with the bbc website but i never had a 3g connection all night... Im starting to think it might be device related rather than network - am i correct?
