Default Orange UK - How to enable APN Streaming

    Hello,

I have been trying for weeks to get APN streaming working on my branded Orange UK bold 9700, and finally I have a solution. This will let Beejive, Absolute Radio, Wunder Radio and iPlayer all work flawlessly over the orange network.

    1) First, if your web browser on the Blackberry is open close it on the menu. Then go to Options>Advanced options>Service book.
    2) Scroll down to Orange WAP 2 in the service book list and press menu>delete.
    3) Close the service book application and go to Options>Advanced options>TCP and type 'orangeinternet' in the APN line at the top (you don't need to enter a user name or anything).
    4) Menu>Save and exit then open your web browser and go to m.youtube or moodio and it should work.

It was a little unstable when I first tried it. The phone rebooted and I had to do 2 above again as the phone remembers to restore the Orange WAP 2 setting on reboot sometimes. As long as the browser is closed though you won't need to reboot and can always delete it again if you ever take the battery out or reboot it.

    Hope it helps!

    Cheers,
    Eggy McEggington.

The APN does not use BIS, however you may have a free allowance, if not they aren't very expensive.
Orange also offer a 500MB usb mobile broadband dongle for a fiver. Personally if coverage is acceptable I would go and spend £40 on the 12GB/1 year 3 dongle

Ohh that dongle deal sounds good. So if I get a dongle for a fiver, wat do I do after the 500mb is used up? And can it run out if u don't use it?

I also have an orange-branded 9700. The IPlayer radio was working fine today, then it stopped working. After restarting the phone, the BBC site said I was outside UK and it wasn't available. I downloaded the Iplayer app from the BBC site. Then it wouldn't work over the Orange network.

I found this thread and followed the above instructions. Now it works, so I'm dead happy- thank you, but....
I'm worried about the charges for using it.... Will I be charged loads? I am on Dolphin 40 websave and I thought all data was free and unlimited, but I've never changed settings like this before...

ah, so this is good for something!

Ever since i had my original bold i had always been told this was the way to get moodio to work... however it always worked for me anyway even without these settings.. same with Bejive, ive used it on blackberry orange for 2/3 years??? whats the issue with beejive?!

BUT on reading that it could allow Iplayer to work over the mobile network then i thought i would give it another go and so it does..! Still doesnt work with BBC mobile TV though
