Exclamation No BIS and Internet Access

I have a Blackberry Torch 9800 on AT&T that I unlocked. I am now using Orange as the service provider and can make calls and send SMS messages. I do not have a Blackberry Data Plan on this account, just a generic 1GB data plan. I tried to go to the Orange BIS website and send Service Books, tried Registering the device in Host Routing Table and also tried changing the APN with no success. If you could please help me, it would be much appreciated.

You need a BIS plan. You will not be able to register the Host Routing Table or send Service Books without one.

Generic data plan is of no use for that.

You need to contact Orange and get a BIS plan.

Ok - thank you. I figured so, but just wanted to check.
