Default Moving to UK/help with choosing a carrier

Hi,

I will be moving to the UK for 12 months. I have an unlocked 8900 I wanted to use with a UK carrier. Would prefer pay as you go but doesn't look like most offer that for BBs. I saw Vodafone offers a 30 day BB Sim only plan, but I'm not sure I would be approved for that plan seeing as I don't have any credit history in the UK. Would rather not buy a new pay as you go BB since mine is perfectly fine.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am on PAYG and have the 8520. My carrier is 02, with which I choose a tariff on 'Simplicity' and add the blackberry bolt on for £5 per month. This isn't like a normal pay monthly tariff because instead of direct debiting it out of your bank account, they take the money from the credit you have on your phone.

If you search '02 Simplicity Tariffs', go on the 02 page and select BlackBerry 1 month from the drop down menu. (I can't post links up yet sorry).

Basically, they send you the sim, you top up £20 and they take that £20 and give you all the extras. No credit history needed.

If you want to pay less than £20, you can always change the tariff to have different extras, but keep the BB bolt-on.

Hope this helps

HollyGx is totally right.. O2 is the way to go and they have a "simplicity" tarriff for Blackberry:

Try this link and have find the plan that suits you... you can tailor it to Blackberry and your needs :-)

On another note I find 02 a much more robust carrier. I manage an estate of around 800 curve 8900 on Vodafone, have a few freinds on Orange but mine in on 02... much better!!!

Thanks for the responses.

I have a hard time accessing the O2 website, the online store is blocked to me since I am not inside the UK yet. Just to clarify, I can get a pay as you go Simplicity (sim only) and add a bolt on for Blackberry, i.e. not the Simplicity 30-day rolling contract with Blackberry bolt-on? All I have to do is load money to the account every month? Can I get this done in store once I am in the UK? Thanks again.
