Default Logging into Orange BIS?

I have read about people logging into BIS to make changes to their account etc using their browser rather than their BB.

How do you do it with Orange?

When I go to https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=orangeuk and try to create an account it says my account is not accessable via HTML browser use the device instead.

If this is the case, why do they have that page? is it because I am PAYG???

My BIS is all set up and I am receiving email fine, I just wondered why as people say you have to log in a release your PIN when the time comes to change phones.

Hi harters,

Here is how to get this working.

First go to your email settings on your blackberry. This should take you to a browser page for managing email. If you have the java app instead (depends on network) then go https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=orangeuk using your blackberry browser.

Select settings and then it will take you to a page where there should be an option saying create username, choose this.

Enter in the details to make an account, then go back to https://bis.eu.blackberry.com/html?brand=orangeuk on your PC and use the account you just made to login.

You need to follow my instructions I posted above, I know it works because I do it all the time on Orange UK blackberries.

Simple version:

On your blackberry go to email settings, then settings, then choose create username. Fill in the information, once done you can go to the orange BIS site on a PC and login.

Right, I get it now.... I have to create the initial login on my Blackberry. Odd that if that is correct why does it give you the option on the PC too?

What exactly is creating this account going to give me. If I dont see anything or cant do anything I can't do on my BB then I won't bother. I haven't done it yet as it gives a warning:

"If you create the Login, you will have to type a user name and password each time you access your email settings. This will be a permanent change"

Thanks for your patience.

Yeah I find it strange that it works like that, I have never been able to register using the site so I am not sure why the option is there. Creating an account from the blackberry has worked for me everytime, though most people don't know to do it.

It is basically just a friendlier (in my opinion) interface to manage your email accounts. Lets you change signatures, delete accounts, add them... that sort of stuff.

Also has an option to change your device (if you buy a new blackberry)

The warning just means when you go to email settings from your blackberry you will be presented with a screen to enter in your username and password, as opposed to going straight into it like it does now. Theres an option for it to remember your username and password, so its not a problem really

Thank you so much.

I understand now.... finally

This is my first Blackberry so I still have lots to learn, but I am pleased to say I LOVE it

Think I will worry about going the "option to change your device (if you buy a new blackberry)" when the time comes

Does this apply on OS7? I am on Orange and have tried the method above but there is no option to create a user name under email settings.
