how to find out which country the BB is locked into?
Hello there,
I was wondering if there's a way to find out which country my BB is locked into.
The model is 8110 with Vodafone logo displayed underneath the keypad.
The phone is currently locked and i want to unlock it, and someone who can unlock it asked me which country this BB belongs to.
Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

Try gsm phone source for unlocking. It is probably locked to vodafone if the logo is there

no there is not in the usa mostly in europe

From your BB desktop hold down alt or shift & type EACE (you won't see what you type) and on the screen that comes up look for the vendor ID.
All the Vodafone contries have a different vendor ID number so you then need to find out which country corresponds with your number.

Am I correct in saying that your vendor ID is 179?

My vendor ID is also 179 and it was purchased as an unlocked sim free handset so it is not tied to any mobile network. I would assume that yours will be the same.
