Lightbulb Fido, BB and regular data plans

Hello,

I am on the 15$ 150MB retention data plan. I used to use it with my iPhone so it's not BB enabled.

Now, I don't care much about the push mail because I think it's a gadget. I can live with having my emails pulled every 15 mins rather than pushed instantly.

I heard what you can and cannot do without a proper BB plan depends on your carrier. Does anyone know what will happen with Fido? i.e. what will work and what won't?

Also, does anyone know if I can push them to turn on the BB plan and keep my 15$ for 150MB? I definitely don't need 500MB and don't want to pay an extra 10$ a month.

Thanks!

I'll bump this and add similar question. I have a Telus 9700 that I just unlocked. I'll be travelling east of Winnipeg where I know Telus HSPA has no coverage. So I purchased a Fido SIM with basic plan and unlimited on device browsing. I am able to get phone to work no problem, but even after putting in fido apn settings (internet.fido.ca), I am unable to get Opera and Gmail mobile working. They will both work with wifi, but not when I turn wifi off and attempt to utilize Fido data. Before this gets into a debate about buying a Blackberry data plan - yada yada yada, I know the difference between the generic data plan and the BB data plan, but as I'm travelling for short spell I just want some basic data coverage for non push email and some browsing.
