Default digicel carrier problem with tether modem

Hey, I'm new here so I'm not sure if this is the right forum. Anyways I'm form Trinidad and my mobile carrier is digicel, so I'm trying to use my bbcurve 8520 as a modem as it would come in handy when I don't have internet access for my laptop. So I followed through the instructions about setting up a bb as a tether modem and it dials and says connected with bytes transfered when I check the status, however when I open internet explorer, none of the web pages are opening. I tried it on my pc that runs xp and I have the same problem. Can someone please help me, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.. Thanks inadvance..

Hey, glad to see another Digi from Trini here. Did you ever get ur problem resolved? As far as I was aware, Digicel initially had that up and running and then blocked the COM Port to get subscribers to buy into their internet packages.

Its a bit more complex than that. The wap2transport service book is the issue. The apn provided in it is the apn for digicel jamaica. Unfortunately, there's no way to edit it. Even the hrt (host routing table) associated with it has the same apn. That's why when u hook it up as a tether they have a "billing issue" as customer care puts it. If they change that one service book then one would be able to access their wap site without having active BIS. So no matter what u do ur tethering with the wrong network. TSTT works like a charm, so try em out
