Blackberry Bold 9000 on telstra Pre paid

I've rang up telstra and according to them if my data is active I should be able to a access my yahoo email account?
Is this correct, could somebody help me

Pretty syre you will be abke to access normal data, you just won't be able to use BIS services like bbm etc
