Unhappy BIS problems with 3G on Orange

Hello

Was wondering if anyone has been having any problems with internet services on their blackberry when using the orange 3G signal. i rang orange today and the bloke on the phone told me to switch my phone to 2G and just use that. Well whats the point of having a 3G phone if im not going to use the 3G signal

Hi

I too am on Orange and for about the past 6 months I have had major problems with 3G in Belfast. It was so bad that I wasn't only losing data but was losing all phone signal. Orange told me that I had a transmitter down just outside my area and so that was having a knock on effect to my signal as all the signals trying to get to the broken transmitter were having to be handled by the other ones and so they were being put under strain. Their answer was the same as yours - use 2G but as you said what's the point in having a 3G phone then.

I have just updated to OS6 and I don't know whether or not Orange have fixed the transmitter or if its just the new OS but I haven't had any issues since I did the update.

Maybe you could try that?

Andrew
